Millennial Who Used To Wear ‘Business Casual’ To Nightclubs Not In A Position To Critique Gen-Z Fashion

A millennial couple having an animated discussion about Gen Z’s clubbing fashion have been urged to take a little walk down memory lane, as it’s discovered that the generation who grew up on free Age of Empire 2 trials in their cereal boxes have had their fair share of fashion faux pas.

It’s alleged the topic of conversation came up when Holly Dorset, 38, spied a line of young women lining up to Betoota’s hottest club, ‘The Nitespot’, all wearing some variation of a simple tank top, jeans and sneakers.

Letting out a scoff, Holly explained to her boyfriend, Tom, that there was no way a millennial would have ever rock flat shoes to the club.

“I can’t believe they’re wearing sneakers, why are they dressed so casual?’, Holly had queried, shaking her head in disbelief, “it looks like they’re going to work.”

“Like, we wouldn’t even care if it was freezing out. We were wearing a dress.”

Strangely, it seems as though Holly has conveniently forgotten how often she and her mates spent a solid year rocking up to the club wearing pencil skirts, vests, chunky belts, hideous oversized necklaces and even blazers - also known as ‘business casual.

This may have had something to do with all the women’s magazines making a big deal about ‘day to night wear’, which stressed the importance of having an outfit one could wear to both the office and the club - because god forbid you just pack another set of clothes.

“Yeah I don’t get it either, bit lazy”, agreed Tom, who used to rock a sweater over a white collar shirt a.k.a ‘The Seth Cohen.’

“Kids these days.”

More to come.
