Angus Wilson (45) once again found himself on the brink of a tantrum this evening after his mother called out to him using a childhood nickname.
It’s understood Wilson, or as his mother insists on calling him, Angy Pangy, has asked his mother on countless occasions to stop calling him that because he’s not a little kid anymore.
“Mum come on, I have asked multiple times to be called Gus.” Whinged Angy Pangy.
“Sure darling, but that’s not how nicknames work. You can’t give yourself one.”
A successful agronomist for one of the Diamantina’s leading agribusinesses, Angy Pangy lives in fear that his friends at work will find out that he’s still an Angy Pangy and never let him live it down.
While it could be potentially humiliating for Angy Pangy to be exposed in a professional setting, there is solace to be found in his fellow Angus’ who have also lived through an Angy Pangy phase.
Speaking with another Angus, who goes by Gus, he explains that nearly every Angus has been an Angy Pangy at some point.
“Ang, Angy, Angy Pangy, that’s about the extent of nicknames for an Angus. Usually you graduate to Gus around 6 so I do feel sorry for that guy still copping it.. My advice would be to just lean into it.”
More to come.
