Melbourne Inundated By Placards With Stunning Handwriting As School Teachers Go On Strike

The most gorgeous use of entries and exits, punctuation and prose are on display in the streets of Melbourne and other Victorian cities today, as the Victorian school teachers go on strike for the first time in 13 years.

Tens of thousands of pandemic-weary educators have walked off the job across the state today, after the education union rejected the state government’s most recent pay offer.

In an era of Andrew Tate-infected young men, helicopter parents, and a national housing crisis that is driving down the number of new teachers, who would prefer to live above the poverty line by taking soul-destroying jobs as rental agents - the Australian Education Union is demanding a 35 per cent pay rise over four years, as well as a doubling of the non-teaching days from five to 10.

Hundreds of Victorian public schools have been affected by the strikes, as 30,000 teachers are understood to be taking part in the industrial action.

It is believed the muzzled educators stuck behind the sandstone walls of the Victorian private school system are secretly cheering on their public school contemporaries.

This strike is unlike any other industrial action to take place in Victoria over the last few years, as the teachers march the streets with placards covered in stunning hand writing.

"We understand it'd probably be a lot easier if we all joined bikie gangs. That seems to be the only way to get a decent wage on government jobs with Allan as Premier" said one 70-year-old teacher who cannot retire because there is no young recruits coming through to replace her.

"But we've decided we are are just going to let our superb handwriting do the talking"

"For now"
