LNP Senator and prolific Facebook poster Matt 'The Italian Stallion' Canavan is today gearing up for a grand final.
The LNP Senator from Queensland is preparing his war paint and practicing his best lines in the mirror, ahead of a show down with his other Nationals' rivals.
The National Party Leadership has come back up for grabs, after Leader David Littleproud said he was too tired to keep going.
His resignation follows a couple of big years of blowing up the Coalition to appease people who clearly wanted his job.
And that job is now set to be hotly contested by the aforementioned Canavan, Victorian Senator and sports rorts guru Bridget Mckenzie, and the man from the Northern Rivers, Kevin Hogan.
Former Nats Leader Michael McCormack is also set to chuck his crisp Akubra in the ring - taking the total number of current contenders to like a quarter of the party.
For the three who haven't lead the party, this upcoming leadership ballot is the moment they've been appearing on Sky News for all their careers.
Canavan explained to The Advocate it's go time.
"Yeah, break out the coal dust, it's time for the big fella to step into the spotlight," laughed Canavan, speaking in 3rd person for some reason.
"All those Facebook posts."
"All that anti-Net Zero advocacy."
"It's all been for this."
"It's time to give the Nats a bit of oomph again."
"Let's go!"
