Mardi Gras After Party Back On As Hilltop Hoods Save The Day

The grey skies over Sydney today rest a little lighter now after the official Mardi Gras After Party is back on thanks to the Hilltop Hoods.

Earlier this month, the Mardi Gras were forced to cancel the post-show party after the planned headliner fell through over Christmas. And over the first two months of the year, failed to secure another one.

Enter the Hilltops.

Speaking to The Advocate today, the party organisers said they're eternally thankful that the guys could make it.

"I mean, it's not Adam Lambert or Kylie but yeah. We're excited to see what the Hilltop Hoods can bring to the Mardi Gras. You can shake your can to Cosby Sweater, right? City of Light, not so much. That's more a tune for being stoned out of your mind, high on Coopers Pale, drifting down the Murray near Renmark or wherever," said one official.

"But ah yeah, there's plenty of options. It'll be sweet. Then after the show, I'm sure DJ Debris will take requests."

Hilltop Hoods told our reporter that they were "fucking pumped" to play the Mardi Gras and reckon it'll be "fucken sick".

More to come.
