A local man who just discovered what the logo of beloved New Zealand sportswear brand Canterbury actually depicts has reportedly had his entire sense of reality shattered.
“What do you mean it isn’t just 3 C’s?!” Decried a highly distraught Lucas Rolland (32).
“It’s 3 C’s to represent the city of Canterbury, right?!”
Only moments earlier Lucas was made aware of the fact that the C’s are actually just the outline of the heads of Kiwi birds.
“So you’re telling me this whole time I was wearing shorts with Kiwi birds on them? This isn’t adding up” he added.
Rolland, who grew up playing rugby and has worn Canterbury shorts for most of his life, said the discovery has left him questioning everything he thought he knew about sports branding.
“It’s like finding out the Puma logo isn’t a cat or that Nike Is actually an eyelash or something” he said, staring blankly at the small red logo stitched onto his footy shorts.
Friends say Lucas spent several minutes zooming in on Google Images to confirm the shocking truth before sending a string of panicked messages to the group chat.
“He was genuinely rattled” said a close mate.
“He kept asking if we all knew about this”
When asked if he’ll still wear his Canterbury branded clothing, Lucas said he needed time to process the information.
“I’m just looking at this brand in a completely different light.. I’m absolutely dumbfounded”
