Local Betoota woman, Stella Russo has confirmed she nearly popped a molar out last Friday, while trying to squeeze in her 10 year old retainers.

After 3 long years of braces during high school, Stella swore she would never stop wearing her retainers to sleep so her teeth would be perfect forever.

“From 13 to 16 I had them, there was a good year I had the elastics too. There was so much metal in my mouth, airpod security always found me suspicious” Stella shared with The Advocate.

After a person wears braces, it’s standard practice for orthodontists to recommend wearing retainers to prevent “relapse.”

Unfortunately for Stella, her relapse began several years ago after a new relationship made her forget the retainer's existence.

“I wasn’t going to wear those things to bed, they are practically a murky yellow coloured mouth guard. My new mans wasn’t going to see me looking like that. And don’t get me started on the lisp.”

Since breaking up with her mans, Stella has been looking at ways to feel more confident with her appearance, starting with the gap in her teeth that’s becoming wider by the minute.

“Once I noticed the gap, I was like fuck my actual life I have to wear my retainers. I had to dig down the side of my bed to find the damn things” Stella explained.

“Soaked them in some hot water, gave them a little wash and tried putting them in my mouth. Bottom teeth weren’t too bad, the front teeth though holy shit bro, I thought they were going to shatter.”

After squeezing the meant-to-be clear retainers onto her teeth, Stella stared at the laughing clown in front of her, ready for a ping pong ball to be slotted into her mouth.

“I looked like an idiot but you know what they say, beauty is pain and I guess also looking fucking stupid.”
