A local woman has finally realised that the era of auto-tuning viral youtube videos was probably the best the internet will ever get.

"I really had no clue that was the golden era" admitted Jenny Yorke (33).

"We were so optimistic back then, YouTube was such a positive place"

Jenny is of course referring to the era of YouTube were "virality" really reached all levels of society - and if they reached a certain level of success an auto-tune remix of the video was sure to make an appearance.

"We were all so happy and silly, that auto-tuned version of the double rainbow song was literally on the local radio" said Jenny moments before looking back at her phone at a man explaining the core tenants of "Looksmaxxing".

The era produced a steady stream of strangely wholesome internet celebrities, most of whom were simply regular people who had accidentally filmed something amusing.

Jenny fondly remembers clips such as the "Bed Intruder" song, "Charlie Bit My Finger" and the many auto-tuned news interviews that briefly dominated the internet before disappearing again.

"The iPhone was just launching, Obama had just been elected and we really had no idea that it would be a steady decline after that"

"By the way my mum has stopped talking to me because I ate brown rice"
