A local employee at Betoota Municipal Council has today chalked up another chunk of paid down time.

Chris Siles (38) managed to do so a short time ago, during his 2nd toilet break of the morning.

Absolutely flat out in between projects with the new bridges going in around the Betoota shire, Siles managed to bank another 20 minutes of time in lieu.

“Yeah,” sighed the man scrolling the news for the 3rd time in the hour.

“Watched some TikyToks.”

“Scrolled IG.”

“Can’t remember any of it.”

“But I remember it being restful and good,” continued the man who may or may not have needed to actually empty his bowels, but sat on the toilet anyway.

For those who don’t work office jobs, time in lieu is usually when an employee is given paid time off instead of overtime pay.

While Chris does get plenty of time in lieu, the great man says he enjoys his other time in lieu just as much.

“It’s one of life’s great pleasures,” said the man who does 3 paid poos a day sometimes.

“Time in lieu is one of my favourite things.”

“Long leave being a public servant.”

More to come.
