A brave mother has today been forced to shield her daughter from one of the greatest horrors of mankind, one that has challenged men and women's confidence in the British Empire for decades: the British & Irish section of woolies.

The incident occurred earlier today when Sandra Clarke (35) had to duck into The Betoota French Quarter woolies with her 5 year-old-after school pick-up.

"It was all going fine, I'm always aware of that aisle and always take the necessary precautions to avoid it, unfortunately this wasn't a woolies I'm super familiar with so I was forced to take risks" the crying mother explained with a tissue in hand.

While strolling through the breakfast cereal aisle, Sandra's daughter Pippa innocently alerted her to something.

"Mum, what's that?" the girl said.

The child pointed directly at a can of Mushy Peas.

Witnesses report that the mother turned white and dove onto her child, protecting her eyes from seeing any more culinary abominations.

"She's too young to see that! She's just a kid! Shee's innocent!" the mother cried as other shoppers guided the mother and daughter to safe passage.

"stuff like that changes a kid, I can't imagine what the family is going through" explained one shopper, adding that the daughter appeared momentarily confused about why mushy peas would be contained in a warm can with a label font so cartoonish it would make you think it's some sort of confectionary product.

Woolworths staff confirm that they are re-evaluating their location and access points to the British foods aisle, but given the amount of corporate recruiters and charity muggers we have in this country, it's probably not going anywhere.
