A local bloke has decided to give this whole ice hockey drama a chance, having heard it’s a pretty good show!
"Don't know much about this sport but I loved The Mighty Ducks as a kid," Adrian Shaw, 32, admitted.
Though confused why his sports-agnostic wife would be interested in watching such a blokey show, Adrian was more than happy to settle in for a night of what was sure to be some action-packed drama about two rival ice hockey players competing to be the best.
Well, that’s what he assumes Heated Rivalry meant.
However within ten minutes of watching the show, Adrian was starting to suspect it might not actually be about hockey at all.
Watching as the lead characters, Ilya Rozanov and Shane Hollander, intensely stared at one another a bit too long, Adrian managed to trick himself into thinking it was some intense rivalry - until it got to the infamous ‘shower scene,’ where the two characters shower together in the locker room.
Which is where his feeble straight brain started to realise this might not be a sports drama at all.
“Oh, they’re looking at each other quite a lot aren’t they,” he’d nervously chuckled, watching as Rozanov washed his privates whilst maintaining direct eye contact with Hollander, “is he trying to intimidate him or…”
Looking over at his wife Kiera, who shot him a mischievous smile, Adrian realised there’s a reason why she showed so much interest in this show.
A thought that is confirmed just moments later.
“Oh god, is this just gay porn? Kiera!” he squealed while leaning in further to catch a better look.
“So that’s why you like it!”
It can later be confirmed that Kiera and Adrian binge watched the entire show that night, with Adrian reportedly getting quite teary eyed over the Scott Hunter coming out scene.
More to come.
