A local man has today given his tacit approval to Big Data Centre.
Bumping home along the Diamantina Link Road on the B52, Blake Murray says this new wave of technology definitely has some perks.
Consuming approximately 100 litres of water on the way home, Murray says “at least 12 litres or so was definitely worth it.”
“Yeah look, there is some really good stuff out there,” he mused as he readied himself to hop off our reporter’s bus.
"And there are definitely a few videos out there that I do think are worth the resources."
Murray's comments come as the nation continues to pretend it has a say in the government, big tech and big business' decision to whack a couple hundred new data centres in around the country.
With energy being one of the main concerns for a nation of citizens already bleeding dry over power and transport costs, water has also been a point of contention as the country hurtles towards its most fuck off El Nino event of all time.
It's estimated that a 10 second AI video that every Tom Dick and Harry is making right now can consume anywhere between 500mls to 5 litres of water at the point of the data source.
Of course it's probably closer to the later, but that's something Blake says he guesses is worth it when an absolute banger comes out of the AIverse.
"I sent a few across to the group chats today."
"And a couple real dank ones to a couple of people who are dank enough for it."
"And yeah, when there's an seed of a vid, I do sometimes sit back and go, yeah that was worth the water."
"Anyway, I gotta go make dinner."
More to come.
