Apple Health have confirmed a rare statistical crossover after a local hung over man’s daily screen time overtook his step count by 5pm Sunday.

Fitness tracking data shows slovenly Betoota man, Ryan Malloy (31), recorded 123 steps by 5pm, almost half the 347 minutes he had spent on his phone, most of which involved slowly refreshing food delivery apps and watching short brainrot videos at a low brightness setting.

Malloy, who indulged himself the night earlier, made two trips to the bathroom, a distance his smartwatch generously logged as 14 steps - each time.

“I did get up a couple of times” he said, in reference to a brief search for Panadol and a longer period spent standing in front of the fridge without removing anything from it.

Friends report that the crossover moment occurred while he was watching a compilation titled Best Street Food In Osaka You Must Try.

Sports scientists say the phenomenon is not unheard of when dealing with grog monsters, yet it is still really impressive.

Ryan's phone also recorded several minutes of activity spent zooming in on group photos from the night before to assess his facial expression.

Public health officials stress that the situation is temporary and can be reversed through light movement, hydration and exposure to daylight, though Malloy confirmed "there was no chance that was ever going to actually happen.

By night time Ryan's step count reached the 200 mark, with a screen time of 623 minutes.
