A local man has credited the entirety of his vexillological knowledge on his year of Fifa growing up.

Luca Bianchi (31), an accountant from suburban Melbourne, stunned his entire office during a game of pub trivia after correctly identifying every country’s flag during a crucial round.

"I just took a sip of beer, shrugged, and told them all I read a lot" said the 31 year old who knows full well he can only tell apart the difference between the Irish flag and the Cote D'Ivoire flag was because of Didier Drogba in Fifa 09.

Colleagues say the room fell silent as Luca calmly rattled off obscure nations with the confidence of a man who once spent entire school holidays perfecting his free kicks with Portsmouth.

“It was scary” said co-worker James Morton (46). '

“He knew the flag of Paraguay instantly. No hesitation. Half of us have never even heard of the place.”

According to Luca, his knowledge stems not from geography class or international travel, but from years of navigating career mode and ultimate team on the Fifa games as a child.

“You play Fifa long enough and eventually you just know where Burkina Faso is” he explained.

“Not because you care, but because some 17-year-old winger from there once ruined your season.”

Witnesses claim Bianchi’s confidence only grew as the round progressed, casually identifying countries such as Moldova, Trinidad and Tobago, and Azerbaijan while other contestants were still debating whether Sweden’s flag was the one with the cross.

Luca insists his proudest moment came when he correctly named Côte d'Ivoire, earning nods of approval from the table and an uncontrollable sense of gratification.
