Local Childcare Really Going All Out With The Updates And Activities After Those ABC Exposés

Local parents have noticed that they’re getting more frequent and much rosier updates from their childcare provider this week.

One of the centres is Little Schitz Academy in Betoota Heights, who used to update parents sporadically on StoryPark and only correspond regularly when a credit card was about to expire.

This week, in light of the ABC’s rigorous combing of the childcare industry, parents have noticed centre management no longer treating them like disposable cash pigs and more like people who care about the well-being of their child.

One parent spoke to The Advocate this afternoon, on the condition of anonymity, who said they noticed a difference after the first Four Corners episode and this week’s 730 segment that showed a childcare worker repeatedly striking a defenceless baby strapped in a rocker.

“I mean, it’d just be the crispest chinning if anyone who did that to your kid,” they said.

“Then a boot upside the head, maybe another. But look, we go to a good facility. It’s not the cheapest and it’s not the most expensive. They’re good people there but that footage on Monday night, like it spooked the hell out of a lot of parents. I mean, like, you’re paying upwards of $100 a day and you think you’re kid is safe and having a good time. My kid is, fortunantly, but it does make you, you know, kind of wonder what goes on here,”

“As for the boss of that big childcare group where all that stuff went down, mate. Someone’s going to Luigi that bloke soon. Seriously bad.”

The parent went on to explain that their child so far this week has enjoyed some painting, the group has made banana bread. They’ve had music and dancing and whatnot. They even get videos now of their kids during the day.

“I hope this was happening the whole time,” they laughed.

“And they’re not just doing it because Four Corners put the dog up them.”

More to come.
