Liberals Clarify Migration Policy On Aged Care: Residents Will Be Allowed Two Bottom Wipes A Week

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has today moved to clarify some of the confusion around his party's 'historic' migration policy.

Taylor made a splash this week when claiming his party would cut net overseas migration from 292,000 to 100,000 for the first two years, and then build it back to 160,000 by year four.

He has insisted the plan would be all sweet because the extra 106,000 temporary skilled migrants the Coalition would allow in would be the economic equivalent of the 750,000 low-skilled migrants who will be given the boot - numbers which definitely make sense.

He initially said sectors like aged care wouldn't really be impacted, before admitting yeah they would be, but not that bad, well he's not sure actually, but they won't be effected that badly.

The man who has effectively handed over the role of Opposition Leader to Pauline Hanson, has cleared up a few details around how his policy will effect the nation's economy - of which his party is the superior manager of, of course.

With independent costing yet to come (because the entire thing has been drafted up without any real, verified, and properly modelled numbers attached to it), Taylor has instead offered to explain some of the sticking points.

Like how for example the aged care sector is going to be impacted when a nearly 1/5th are temporary migrants.

"Well look, with a few simple tweaks, we can easily cover for the 90,000 temporary migrants who work in or around the aged care sector," explained Taylor of the sector that is already battling to find staff at the current moment.

"If we can limit elderly arse wipes to 2 a week, and have them cook their own food, then we can easily offset this."

"A couple of simple tweaks and we are laughing."

When pressed on whether he was aware he his policy could directly lead to raising the minimum wage and forcing employers to pay Aussie workers more money, by slashing migration for sectors like this, Angus looked flummoxed.

"Hmmm, yeah maybe that's why all the business groups are so angry at me?"

More to come.
