The new pontiff in town has today set tongues wagging across the globe, after making a very big admission.

Pope Leo XIV has confirmed in an exclusive interview with The Advocate that he is strongly considering granting a sainthood to Sydney Roosters superstar Marky Mark Nawaqanitawase.

The shocking admission comes after the world witness one of the greatest tries ever seen by humankind.

With his team under the pump against the ladder leading Dogs of War, Marky Mark somehow managed to hop skip kick and jump from out of bounds before regathering his own kick in the in goal and placing it down for a try.

Described as a modern miracle by many, the incredible feat was raised by the Prime Minister Anthony Albanese in his first meeting with the new Pope.

Shaking hands insides St Peter’s Basilica, Albanese reportedly raised the possibility of Sainthood for the Roosters and former Wallabies flyer, amongst other issues.

While the Pope from Chicago has gone on record to say he wants to see Michael Jordan recognised first and foremost, the incredible buzz created by Marky Mark may see him pass the Chicago Bulls icon.

“Look, we’ll see what we can do,” said the Pontiff.

“It certainly looked like divine intervention.”

“Your Prime Minister is pushing his luck by saying Latrell needs one too for his 50 metre field goal though.”

More to come.
