Labor Centrist Chortles At Liberals Being Eaten By One Nation As If His Party Are Untouchable

A local soft handed man from our town's French Quarter is still chortling about the results of the South Australian election today it can be confirmed.

"Hahaha Peter absolutely wiped the floor with the Liberals down there," chortled Andy Whitworth, a new age centrist upper middle class Labor man who grew up in Betoota Grove and attended Whooton School for Boys.

"We absolutely pummelled them," continued Andy, who is keen to pile all the credit on Labor, and seemingly ignore the disruption and success of One Nation in our southern neighbouring state.

Many like Andy within the Labor party, have been quick to view the election results through the lens of seats won, as opposed to percentage of votes for non-major parties.

That metric sees the Liberals decimated, holding maybe 4 when all is said and done, with One Nation picking up anywhere between 1-3 seats.

"It's all red baby," laughed Andy, who similarly to Labor chodes around the country who seemingly think the One Nation and the other minors/independents aren't coming for them next.

"It just shows sensible progressive politics is what people want," continued the graphic designer despite 49% of people's first preference not being a major party, up from 19% in 2006.

While some might argue the huge swell in votes for One Nation and the other non-majors might be something to do with people being angry at the status quo landscape of politics where messaging is considered a higher priority than implementing policies that benefit the greater population, Andy seems not too fussed.

"Oh please, One Nation are just a flash in the pan," explained Andy.

"People want stability and security," continued Andy seemingly unaware that an increasing number of people feel like they don't have either, and are pretty keen to blame that on the people in charge of the country.

"We'll be fine."

More to come.
