One of the most talked about political figures in modern Australian history has once again caused a splash in the news.

Kevin Rudd, the former Prime Minister of Australia and now former Ambassador to the United States has sensationally revealed that his had enough of the job.

The big fella from the Sunshine State has officially quit as Australia's man on the inside in America, a few months after a highly publicised run in with the President of the United States.

While many have speculated the United States desire to destroy it's reputation (or what's left of it in many parts of the world) was the cause for the resignation - The Advocate can exclusively confirm that it's the lure of a cushy gig back home that caused the stunning move.

After decades waiting in the wings for the coveted Bistro manager role at the Norman Hotel, Rudd has apparently jumped at the opportunity to take the reins.

"Yeah, it was a no brainer really," said Rudd in a quick interview with The Advocate via phone this morning.

"When Australia's worst vegan restaurant rings your phone, you answer."

"I was actually beginning to come to terms with the fact I might never get a shot at it in my life time."

"But thankfully, the food bistro gods have finally blessed me with this opportunity."

"And I'm grabbing it with two 600 gram rump steaks baby."

"Leshgooooo!"
