As the sprinklers go on at the much lauded annual event that is the Gabba Test, the English Cricket team are desperately searching for moral victories.

Following another resounding loss at the hands of the old enemy, the English will now head to Adelaide to begin figuring out how they win the next 3 tests in a row.

Well, actually they'll go to Noosa to rest and recharge after a gruelling five and a half days of test match cricket across the last month, and then Adelaide.

Amongst discussions about things like the need to constantly the drive on the up to inappropriate deliveries; former players, commentators and pundits have also urged one of their star players to lift.

Devastating pace bowler Jofra Archer has been urged to bowl a bit faster, when there's something going on.

The specific call out to the player from the largely insipid team follows a sledge from the Australian Captain Steve Smith.

With the game over and Australia chasing a handful of runs in the 4th innings, Archer decide to dial up a bit of heat, which lead to a brief battle in the middle before Smudge called time on the game.

Those calls from Smudge have been echoed by the greater cricketing fandom, with even Australian fans starting to feel kind of bad for the English.

"Yeah, would be nice to see Jofra bowl fast when there's something going on," said one local cricket fan.

"Make a bit of a game of it ya know."
