In some news that proves Brisbane really is at the centre of everything, The Advocate has uncovered that Jacob Elordi’s look in the 2025 Frankenstein is not, in fact, modelled after the scene in Interview With A Vampire where Tom Cruise’s Lestat emerges from a lake, but rather what happens to your body if you go for a swim in the Brisbane River.

Speaking to the Brisbane native in an exclusive interview, our reporter learns that Elordi partnered up with director Guillermo Del Toro to craft a look that is both true to the character of Frankenstein’s monster and reflective of his home life.

This comes as Elordi admits he often thinks about home as he stars in yet another gothic blockbuster directed by an award-winning filmmaker - one where he’s again forced to make out with breathtakingly gorgeous actresses.

Elordi, who has since grown quite close to Del Toro, says the director was more than happy to accommodate him with his costume request, revealing that he was heavily inspired by images of the Brown Snake after Elordi himself went for a swim to ‘get into character.’

Though the experience saw him riddled with pneumonia and a rare strain of syphilis, Elordi says being one with the brown snake helped him really get into the mindset of being a monster.

"The things I saw down there... I can still see them, even when I close my eyes", reveals Elordi, with a shudder, "Now I know why it's always brown."

More to come.
