Jackie "O" Henderson has quit her hit KIIS FM radio show, and will be ending her broadcast partnership with controversial co-host Kyle Sandilands after 25-years.

This news has sent shockwaves through Sydney and other syndicated markets, except for Melbourne, as this institution of cheeky breakfast radio is pulled from the airwaves.

However, as one iconic Australian media brand fades - another rises from the ashes like a phoenix.

And Australia's unscripted light-entertainment television audiences couldn't be more excited about what comes next.

"Good morning Thorpie!" was once a household catch phrase in Australia, in the earliest years of reality TV.

Debuting on Channel 7 in early 2002, 'Undercover Angels' was television series that was vaguely inspired by the American Hollywood blockbuster franchise Charlie's Angels - which was quite popular at the time.

The programme centred around Ian 'The Terror From Milperra' Thorpe, who had recently household name due to his record-breaking gold medal haul in an array of swimming events at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, which was immediately followed by him winning 'Young Australian Of The Year' at the turn of the millennium.

His 'undercover angels' were made up of three prominent Australian media personalities, namely breakfast radio presenter Jackie O, Aussie pop star Katie Underwood and Kiwi actress Simone Kessell.

Each episode, Thorpie would send the angels on different missions around Australia to perform good deeds for families that were doing it tough.

However, with Thorpie preparing for yet another Olympics in Athens, and each of the angels following their own career trajectories, the beloved Australian TV show was only ever meant to last 11 episodes.

But 22 years later, with Jackie-O calling time on her lengthy career in radio broadcasting, the whispers of a reboot have suddenly been confirmed.

With Thorpie now well and truly out of the pool and focusing on philanthropy and commentating, it may just be time to get the gang back together to find a replacement puppy for some foster kids whose dog has been stolen.

Jackie-O says she's excited to get back into the Alfa Romeo hatchback, and that working with a gentleman like Ian is very refreshing.

As for the other two angels, Simon Kessell is checking her calendar to make sure she can squeeze it in before the next season of Yellowjackets - while Katie Underwood has delayed the 'Bardot' 25-year reunion tour - and is ready to travel out to Mount Druitt to help clean out a widowed hoarder's garage!
