International Hottest 100 Artist Either 'Really Stoked Man I Love Australia' Or Could Not Give A Shit

As the Hottest 1oo races towards crowning Olivia Dean, a raft of artists have dialled into Triple J to say hello.

From all corners of the country and the globe, artists featuring in the largest democratic musical vote in the world have been contacted to offer their thoughts and feelings on being included.

For some artists making the top of the pops from the 2 million votes cast, it is a great honour, and for others it's just a cool thing, I guess.

That juxtaposition is particularly highlighted when international artists are dialled in.

Given that most of them didn't grow up listening to the countdown or knowing that their musical careers could be made by the radio station - the inclusion in the countdown isn't that big a deal.

Hence the two types of reaction that often seem to come:

  1. "Wow dude that is so awesome. I love Australia so much, thank you to all my fans in Australia."
  2. "Yeah. Cool. Thank you. Appreciate it. Bye now."

With the countdown now rattling along, the big question remains to be seen, how will Olivia respond, if she dials in.
