A local woman who couldn’t give two shits about horse racing has instead turned her attention to a much more exciting race, as the hours count down until the 2025 New York mayor election.

Much like every other leftie who’s chronically online, Sophie Deneuve, 31 has become obsessed with the New York mayoral election between Democrat candidate Andrew Cuomo, Republican candidate Curtis Sliwa and Democrat Socialist candidate  Zohran Mamdani - the latter of whom has become somewhat of a political superstar.

Despite being relatively unknown a year ago, Mamdani’s political campaign has achieved international recognition through his grassroots door to door and charismatic social media presence, which has seen his videos generate millions of views worldwide.

Unlike other left wing candidates, who tend to ‘take the high road’ and avoid conflict, Mamdani has been quick to publicly call out Cuomo’s past controversies, including past sexual harassment claims and the covid 19 nursing home scandal that saw many elderly die.

Sliwa has also generated plenty of fanfare due to his hilarious, unhinged quips, describing Cuomo's downfall as ‘slapping fannies and killing grannies.’

This election has sparked hope for many, who view the showdown between Mamdani and Cuomo as a David vs Goliath moment.

Despite having the combined efforts of politicians, lobbyists and multiple billionaires who are doing everything in their power to stop Mamdani from winning the race, it appears that the ‘communist’ who wants to tax the rich, provide public childcare, and fare free city buses, just might have a shot at winning this thing.

Which is why Sophie is eagerly counting down the hours until November 4.

"Gosh, I'm going to be glued to my phone all day tomorrow!", says Sophie, "I really hope my pick wins!"

More to come.
