A Betoota Heights man said his wife has all of a sudden started to refer to him has her “hubby” – something he says began after his better half came back from the hairdressers with a two-tone bob.
In addition to being called “hubby”, 59-year-old Deverel Slacks says his wife Magda has also used other choice adjectives when speaking to him.
“She called me a ‘spunky monkey’ this morning,” he said.
“I nearly spat my tea out. I mean, calling me her hubby was weird enough. She used to say women who refer to their partners as ‘their man’ or ‘their baby daddy’ needed to get their head read. I don’t know what’s gotten into her,”
“What next? She’s going to come back from Big W with sequin jeans? Christ knows. All I do know is that this all started when she went to the bloody Schwarzkopf psychiatrist and that lunatic convinced her to cut off six-inches and put a bunch of blonde highlights through it,”
“At this rate, she’ll be going to our grandkid’s soccer games looking for a blue.”
However, Magda explained via telephone that nothing’s changed from her perspective.
Offering an explanation for Deverel’s state of panic, Madga said he’s just getting to that age when change is met with trepidation.
“It’s just a bit of fun, I know what I’m doing,” she said.
“Just having my fun, Errol.”
More to come.
