Recession Indicator? Local Woman Packing Her Own Ice To Put In Regular Long Black

In a sure sign that a recession is on the horizon, a local woman was spotted placing her own ice into a long black coffee this morning, to save herself some much needed dollary doos.

Our reporter was waiting in line at Betoota CBD’s ‘The Little Duck’ cafe when she witnessed a woman in her mid twenties scooping out a handful of ice from her coat pocket and placing it into a cup of coffee.

Though this kind of behaviour would have been seen as quite odd should it have happened a year ago, it’s reported that multiple people in the line could be seen nodding their heads in approval and remarking what a clever idea it was – a sure sign that shit is well and truly fucked.

Iced coffees can cost up to $8 for some reason, with the addition of frozen water somehow making it a few dollars more than a regular coffee.

It’s understood this has heavily affected the gays the most.

However, this local woman appears to have found a cost effective solution to both enjoying a barista made coffee and saving some much needed cash – BYO ice.

“House parties and heavy pre drinks are back, cocaine’s cut with creatine and I haven’t seen an 18 year old at the club in yonks”, says the woman.

“A recession is coming.”
