A woman who splashed out a stupid amount of money on a designer dog breed has unfortunately learned the ‘more money, more problems’, after the dog in question, a French bulldog, was struck down with three different ailments in the span of just one year – costing roughly $2.5 in vet fees.

Maggie Caine, 34, tells The Advocate that she decided to adopt the Frenchie after she and her partner upgraded to a bigger apartment with a backyard, which meant there was no room for more than one dog.

Having owned her other dog Lou, a fifteen year old mutt that was as durable as the 3310 Nokia, Maggie had no idea the amount of shit involved with owning a designer breed – citing that ‘Benji’ had now cost her a total $8k, with no signs of slowing down.

“Lou was literally hit by a car four years ago and was absolutely fine”, says Maggie, “she even ate a bunch of easter eggs and nothing happened.”

“But I gave Benji some different dog food last week, and he ends up shitting himself to the point of dysentery, and requiring an IV drip.”

“Fucking useless.”

More to come.
