Despite trying many times to get the hang of Korean skincare, a local woman has sadly come to the conclusion that the only type of ‘glass skin’ she’ll ever have is ‘textured glass’, and the closest she’ll have to a dewy complexion is ‘oily.’
‘Glass skin’ is one of the latest beauty trends to hit social media, and involves having poreless, translucent skin – like a piece of glass.
Skincare companies and beauty influencers have jumped on the trend, advertising products that are guaranteed to transform even the most problematic skin into a baby’s bottom.
But local woman Jess Talbot, 32 is quickly finding out that the only people capable of having glass skin are those with blessed genes or 18 year olds, as she finds herself once again struggling with adult acne despite having a seven step skincare regime.
Speaking to our reporter, Jess says her skin has actually gotten worse since getting into skincare, and that she actually had a better complexion when she was just using moisturiser and vaseline.
“Yeah so it turns out glass skin isn’t achievable when you have PCOS”, says Jess, with a snort, “or if you’re older than 25.”
“It’s all a bloody scam.”
Jess says she’s going to go back to using fuck all skincare products, if only to get rid of the perioral dermatitis she developed after using too much skincare.
More to come.
