A local woman who’s a staunch supporter of all things body positivity has been accused of being a hypocrite today, for not being able to extend that positivity to her own nose, it’s reported.
Sophie Burton, 28, like many women, has been conditioned into believing that tiny button noses with ski jumps are the only noses that can be beautiful, despite having a very normal looking nose that fits her face.
Speaking to our reporter, Sophie admits she’s the first person to tell her friends they look beautiful just the way they are, but that she also thinks about getting a nose job roughly ‘once a month.’
“I’ve hated my nose since I was a teenager, and those bloody Instagram beauty filters don’t help”, sighs Sophie, “you know, the ones that give you large eyes, a tiny Voldemort nose and slim your chin.”
“Which are very childlike features if you think about it…”
“Actually, I don’t want to think about that. Let’s not open up that Pandora’s box.”
Sophie says it was only after watching the latest season of The Boys, that she started to rethink all the media brainwashing she’s received over the years, including challenging the very western centric standards that having a nose like a child is the only way to be beautiful.
“There’s a character in The Boys called Victoria Neumann and she’s got quite the schnoz but she’s absolutely stunning”, says Sophie, “I realised it was the first time I’d seen a main female character on screen with a large nose.”
“So yeah, fuck that noise actually. “
More to come.
