Friendly Convo With Random Couple At Bar Intensifies With ‘We Think You’re Very Attractive’

Sometimes, admiration can come from the most unlikely of places and for local woman, Maddie Coates, a seemingly innocuous drink has turned into a solicitation.

It’s alleged the twenty-six-year-old had ventured into town with a couple of girlfriends, for a belated celebration of a promising new job.

Opting for the Gatsby Hotel, Maddie had gotten into the inebriated state where she felt comfortable enough to talk to strangers, including a very nice couple called Sarah and David.

Slowly straying from her friends who had found some guys to talk to, Maddie had happily swapped tales of travelling ventures and a shared love of the Mediterranean with the charming couple, who seemed friendly and unthreatening enough for Maddie to open up to.

As the conversation strayed from innocent topics to Maddie’s troubled love life, the couple seemed a little too eager to hear about her woes as a single woman, before pausing heavily to deliver an absolute showstopper of a segue.

“Aw you poor thing, it must be so hard dating these days”, said a sympathetic Sarah, glancing back at her partner.

“David and I were so lucky to find each other in our early twenties.”

“You shouldn’t be having so much trouble….I must say, David and I were just discussing how attractive you are.”

Slowly blinking as it dawned on her what they meant, a frazzled Maddie attempts to disarm the situation by graciously accepting the compliment and rapidly changing the subject to something trivial
