A Betoota Plains Blue Heeler has today revealed to The Advocate the current malaise he finds himself in.

The moderately unhealthy older patriarch dog at 958 Bedourie Link Road told us that he’s been feeling pretty self-conscious over the last few days, and it’s started to effect his life.

“I haven’t been swimming in the creek for ages,” said the 7 year old local dog called Bruiser.

While it’s normally something he loves to do, Bruiser says he just been really self-conscious about parading his body around after catching a certain episode of Bluey the other day.

The episode in question features Bluey’s dad Bandit, standing on the scales and wobbling his belly.

“Oh man, I just need to do some exercise,” says Bandit in the episode aptly titled ‘Exercise.’

The episode has since been edited to remove the scene, after accusations of fat-phobia and fat shaming were levelled at the producers of the show.

However, the damage has been done says local dog Bruiser.

“It didn’t make me feel nice,” said Bruiser, who doesn’t think his sedentary lifestyle may be the reason behind the way he feels.

“I don’t feel like chasing extra flies around the back yard,” said the local dog who wasn’t raised on a proper farm.

“And rather than just shrug and ignore the small scene aimed at discussing how exercise is an important part of helping to stay physically and mentally healthy, I’m going to blame it for me not feeling good about myself.”

Bruiser says he isn’t sure what he’s going to do about future swims in the creek, but is apparently expecting the next episode of Blue to fix things for him.

More to come.
