Hostile Melbourne And Brisbane Fanbases Bond Over How Shit The Commute To Sydney Olympic Park Is

As tubes of anxious Brisbane and Melbourne supporters make the slow and arduous journey out to the sticks of Sydney today, both sides appear to be finding common ground in the fact the commute is actually so shit.

With no NSW team into the Grand Final, it’s believed the Sydney Transport network have decided that all the tourists who’ve paid thousands of dollars in flights just to get to Sydney, can simply get f*cked and battle hour long lines and packed trains to take them out to Olympic Park.

Standing on a packed carriage with failing air-condition, one Ennoggera man has been applauded for bringing the Rugby League community together, by kicking things off with a public sledge of Sydney.

“Fck this sucks doesn’t it!” yelled Gordon Harrison, over the armpit of two other random Brisbane supporters sweating in their plastic jerseys.

“Yeah it’s a joke! Youse don’t have this trouble in Melbourne aye…” replied his mate, nodding towards a pack of Melbourne fans.

Spotting the chance to break bread with an opposition supporter who he knows he’ll be abusing later inside the stadium, Footscray man Ryan Grant decided to join in on the great beat down of the harbour city.

“Nah mate, we’ve got it sorted in Melbourne aye, can walk to the MCG from anywhere! Heaps of good pubs close by too.”

“Yeah same in Brissy mate, you can pump yourself silly along Caxton Street then almost crawl into Suncorp” replied the Broncos supporter.

With the whole carriage nodding along, enthusiastic to spit in Sydney’s tanned and botoxed face, both groups of fans have bonded together and decided to help each other navigate the travel arrangements.

“Anyway, what’s the go, do we have to change at Lidcombe or something?” asked the Brisbane supporter.

“Are buses replacing trains? I’ve been here for Origin before and it took about three hours to get back to the city from Olympic. I reckon you leave a good 10 mins before the final whistle, or you won’t get you and your family home before midnight. Anyway, best of luck to you Storm fellas.”
