A local mother from an inner city suburb has given approval nod to a vaguely political but also non-controversial street art mural in her neighborhood.

Claudia Weiss (55), a marketing consultant and part-time pilates attendee, was seen pausing mid-oat latte to take in the large scale artwork, which depicts Yoda holding a hand-painted sign reading “Stop Wars.”

“It’s just so important,” she said, without specifying exactly what it was important for.

"I've seen that little monster guy on one of my sons games, it's important art like this can reach the youth,"

The mural, painted on the side of a recently converted warehouse café, appears to take a firm stance against war broadly, while also functioning as a light play on "Star Wars", ensuring it remains accessible to a wide audience.

“Oh yes, it's very clever,” Claudia continued.

“You can tell it means something, but it’s also kind of fun.”

Local residents who generally cringe at the non-commissioned graffiti in their suburb have praised the piece for its ability to gesture toward global issues while remaining appropriate for family friendly audiences.

“I think it starts conversations,” said another onlooker, before declining to elaborate on what those conversations might be.

Artists behind the mural confirmed their goal was to create something that felt politically engaged without risking absolutely any disagreement.
