After years of scandal and the disastrously delayed construction of Brisbane’s new Queen’s Wharf venue, it’s looking increasingly likely that Star Casino as we know it might have to pull up stumps.
This would also mean that there is nowhere to get a schooner in Sydney after 10pm, after the entire city was shut down in 2015 for the sole purpose of funnelling partygoers directly in the only late-night venue in the city.
Even with the help of the lockout laws, substantial tax abatements, and a number of other blatant political favours – it seems that the Star Casino just could not overcome the hurdles presented by the industry regulators.
A collapse of the gaming empire, who operates casinos in Sydney, Brisbane and the Gold Coast, appears to be imminent.
This is a new low for Corporate Australia, who continues to prove that they are unable to make a dollar out of anything except for digging up rocks and speculating on property. Not even Peter Dutton’s long lunch tax breaks will be able to save the Star Entertainment from bankrupting most fool-proof business model in history.
And the blame lands entirely on the woke regulators who no longer let the Casinos brazenly wash millions of dollars of cash for organised crime operations.
No more sports bags full of money on the desk at the VIP lounge. In fact, the woke left want to casino to go cash-less because it’s apparently the only way to stop international syndicates from laundering millions of dollars from the most abhorrent crimes committed in both Australia and overseas.
When will the government just get out of the way and let Australians prosper. This needless red tape has directly affected Star Entertainment’s share price – and those snoopy lefties with their hidden cameras at the ABC aren’t helping either. Shame on Australia.
