After a month of incessant messaging and Tony Robbins-esque motivational speeches consoling a heartbroken but cowardly friend, a group of girls has today found out that it was all for nothing.

“We’re giving it another shot” said Kata Bannister, rather sheepishly to her friends.

What followed can only be described as a perfectly harmonised internal groan from every single one of her friends. However, on the outside the girls showed anything but.

“Oh babe, I’m so glad you’ve worked it out!” lied one friend.

“Yeah, I’m happy for you too – as long as you’re happy” lied another.

The Advocate was curious as to why the girls decided to lie to their friend, rather than telling the truth and encouraging their friend to ditch the dead beat that broke her heart.

“You can never be honest. Anything you say, she’ll relay to her boyfriend and then they’ll both just hate us.”

“It’s just easier to pretend, then no one gets hurt. Except Kata, when they break up again because her boyfriend is a piece of shit.”

It’s understood that Kata’s boyfriend’s social circle, on the other side of the relationship, are in a similar headspace to the girls.

“He’s a good mate, but he’s a pig. We were so stoked when they broke up”

“Like, we all know what he gets up to. So does she”

Needless to say, neither parties are overly impressed with the two lovers reunion; for their sanity, let’s just hope they break up again soon.
