The New Zealand version of Ninja Warrior is set to be a ratings hit across both the South Island, North Island and South Brisbane regions, as the new variation of the internationally renowned reality TV show adds their own Kiwi-flavour to their obstacle courses.

NZ Ninja Warrior (sometimes abbreviated as NZNW) is set to be a fan favourite on channel TV3, as the sports entertainment competition spin-off looks set to challenge hundreds of contestants in rugby drills as well as high-rise scaffolding.

Set to be hosted by Kiwi popstar Lorde and former All Blacks captain, Tana Umaga – the program will also include obstacles based on pub security and motorcycle jacket stitching.

“Contestants will have to prove themselves able to throw drunk Australians out of a pub gaming room, as well as recite every single name in Richie McCaw’s extended family” said one producer.

“The eight storey scaffolding course will be by far the most high-octane. Do our contestants have what it takes to have the top floor ready for a slab within the time limit?”

“Only time will tell”

It is believed that while working on the scaffolding obstacle course contestants will be required to carry a very loud bose speaker playing Kiwi reggae, while also making heaps of in-jokes that other tradesmen can’t understand.
