In yet another example of astounding incompetence, the Prime Minister’s Office has somehow managed to fuck up a fairly simply brief.

The Women’s Network, an office set up by the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (PMC) to focus on gender equality, was supposed to be just that. A performative quarter of a million dollar branding exercise, aimed at hushing up voter concerns that our government doesn’t respect women.

Instead its turned into an unnecessary sideshow of memes and news headlines, as the government unveils a new logo that looks exactly like a cartoon doodle.

The logo has faced a wave of backlash and ridicule for its design, with many people suggesting it is unarguably phallic – complete with a W that looks like two lopsided nads in a snug little nutsack.

According to the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s website, the Women’s Network is a volunteer-based organisation that “champions equal opportunity on behalf of its members” – but has not offered any information regarding why they felt that this new girlboss project would be best represented by a cartoon cock – in the same purple hue as the infamous eggplant emoji.

Many on social media suggested the somewhat explicit design was no accident, and posed the possibility that perhaps the Prime Minister’s own staff are undermining him, like the time they incorrectly briefed him on false accusations of sexual harassment in the NewsCorp office, leading him to defame Sky News journalists during a press conference about women’s safety.

Questions are now arising over what kind of operation they are running in the Federal Cabinet, and how many eyes this new cock logo went past before press releases were blasted to every major newspaper in the country.

The PM’s office have today finally addressed the furore.

“We disagree wholeheartedly that this logo looks like a penis” read the statement.

“Wait… Do you want it to look like a cock?”

“Is that the issue here?”

“If you wanted it to look like a cock, you shoulda just said so. We don’t know what you women want anymore”

“We’ll go back to the drawing board if it keeps you happy?”

“Jeez you girls are really putting the MEN’S WORK in Women’s Network”

“Hahaha”
