Hahaha! Mum Shares Hilarious Anecdote From Your Childhood That Probably Should’ve Warranted A Diagnosis

Betoota local Samson Thomas (25) has been once again reminded his life probably could’ve been a lot easier had his parents just taken him to the doctor two decades earlier.

Samson, who has always felt like his brain might work a little bit different to everyone else’s, only recently started making the moves for a formal diagnosis.

Last night, at their weekly dinner at Samson’s childhood home in Betoota Grove, the Thomas family began reminiscing and sharing friendly memories of a simpler time.

However, as they moved onto dessert, his mum Michelle thought she’d speed that diagnosis process up a bit and provide Samson some additional material to chat about in his next appointment.

“Oh God, you were such a funny little thing,” she said.

“We used to have to bring industrial grade ear muffs to the fireworks down on the harbour. Otherwise, you’d start having a meltdown and tantrum because it was all too loud.”

“God you were such a picky eater, too. You wouldn’t eat anything, we used to have to bring a container of what we called your ‘safe foods’ to every event otherwise you’d scream and cry because you’d be so hungry and work yourself up."

“Your favourites were peanut butter and yoghurt. You hated the texture of anything else.”

“Ohhhh, have I ever told you about your religious phase! You used to have to pray every night that we’d all be kept safe, then you’d work yourself up if you were forgetting someone and think that something was going to happen to them because they weren’t in your bedtime prayer!"

"We pulled you out of religion after that. Ha ha.”

“Ok, yep, that's maybe enough now, thanks for that, Mum,” replied Samson.

Though Michelle acknowledges the young man’s behaviour probably wasn’t typical, she maintains it was just a ‘different time’ back then.

More to come.
