A local tech engineer and avid Android phone user actually has strong views on lots of stuff.

Matt Dunstan (Betoota Grove) strongly rejects Apple products and insists that his trusty Samsung is the way to go.

Despite no one actually caring that much, Dunstan makes a big deal about being a little bit different.

“Yeh Apple (IOS) actually uses what’s called planned obsolescence where their devices are programmed to crash out so you have to replace them more frequently.”

“And despite what everyone says, Android phones are actually easier to use than Apple phones, there’s been lots of studies that show people learn to use Androids really easily if they just let go of the stigma,” he said.

But the strong opinions don’t end with the Android VS Apple debate, Dunstan has strong opinions on a variety of different topics.

“You should definitely use a VPN, it’s really dangerous to browse the internet without one, you’re pretty much inviting hackers in.”

“Everyone’s pretty worried about the state of the world but we’re actually living in the most peaceful time in human history,” he insisted.

A long time friend of Dunstan told The Advocate that despite his strong opinions he was a genuinely helpful guy.

“He’s definitely a smug know it all but he’s really good at torrenting movies so I guess it kind of evens out.

More to come.
