Guy Who Peaked In High School Pretty Sure Everyone In The Gym Is Looking At Him

Local man Callum Manning entered the Betoota Heights Workout Worx with his chest puffed out, just in case anyone recognised him from his highschool days where he was the Diamantina Dingos number one try scorer.

Despite not a single person glancing up from their own workouts, Manning told our reporter he was “pretty sure they clocked him as he walked in” and were “probably thinking how tough he looked.”

However, after speaking to a few fellow gym-goers, it became clear that not only did they not clock him as he walked in, but they were in fact shocked to learn it was the same Callum Manning that some of them went to school with.

“That guy? I thought he was here to refill the vending machine” said one guy.

“You’re kidding… geez aging can be a cruel mistress can’t she” said another woman, referring to Manning’s unathletic form.

Manning, who’s now a travelling sales rep for a drench company, once scored 7 tries in a single game of footy. But a life on the road drinking schooners and pounding Roadhouse dimmies means that the once great athlete was now buried under a thick layer of adipose tissue.

As if trying to prove that the athlete was still in there somewhere, Manning upped the dumbbell weight 10kg as he grunted out his shoulder shrug reps – just in case anyone was watching.

More to come.
