If there’s one thing party goers are going to take out of an end of year get-together down in Betoota Quays, it’s that construction manager Sam Ling (38) owns a race horse.
In fact, based off how often Ling referred to his horse, everyone in the pub is probably aware he has one. And that it is racing at the Eagle Farm this Saturday.
Witnesses at the scene say that Ling said “my horse” upwards of fifty times throughout the day, finding niche and increasingly imaginative ways to insert it into conversation.
“He must know a lot about horses and be really important,” said one of the witnesses.
However, friends of Ling are not so easily impressed, and are frankly sick of seeing him share racing clips on Instagram every time his horse wins.
“He barely owns a toe nail of that horse,” revealed one friend who wished to remain anonymous.
While Ling’s name is listed as one of the owners, an Advocate source from Racing QLD revealed that he only owns 0.01%. Which works out to about a fetlock worth of horse.
The Advocate reached out to the horse trainer for confirmation, but rather than share a quote for this story he gave a stern message to Ling.
“You tell that prick that he’ll own nothing if he doesn’t pay his training fees.”
More to come.
