“Guess I Won’t Need Dinner Now” Says Mum After Eating Regular Sized Lunch At Cafe

A local mum has today confirmed that her lunch has made her SO full, she doesn’t have to eat dinner now!

Making a big song and dance as she struggled to finish off her chicken bowl, Martha Riley, 60, likes to remind her daughter that she’s not used to ‘eating so much’ – which in her case, is eating a very normal sized meal.

“I don’t think I can even finish this, it’s way too much food for me”, Martha had sighed, dramatically poking her fork around the bowl as looked for a hidden cherry tomato, “I don’t usually eat this much.”

“Guess I won’t have to make dinner now though!”

Her daughter, Stevie, 32, who had already polished off a BLT in five minutes flat, admits she’s still surprised the boomer diet culture has such a stronghold on her mum well into her old age.

She figured by the age of 61, it would be time to tuck into some sweets and let that shit go.

“She hardly bloody eats. Everytime I visit her, she’s got nothing in the fridge except some veggies and a block of cheese”, laments Stevie, “I don’t know, I thought she’d be over the diet shit by now?”

Stevie says the diet culture is so entrenched, she struggles staying with her mum for extended periods of time, who has a habit of commenting when Stevie eats like a normal human being.

“I always feel like I’m close to developing an eating disorder when I visit. She’s absolutely gobsmacked by the amount of food I eat. But like, it’s a normal amount?”

“She eats like a bird.”

Stevie can attest that though her mum is quick to turn down food, wine doesn’t seem to be a problem.

“Won’t have a biscuit but will guzzle a bottle of wine. Make it make sense.”

More to come.
