174 years after alluvial gold was discovered in Bendigo Creek, the Loddon Mallee region of north-central Victoria is set to explode again.

This comes after it was revealed that Bendigo will be playing host to the Motel Du Cap World Tour.

Residents of the region and the broader Australian music community woke to that news this week – that Good Charlotte, Yellowcard and Kisschasy will be sensationally lighting up the Bendigo Racecourse.

Even more sensationally, the millennial icons will be skipping the most emo Australian city of Melbourne, to play in Australia’s 4th biggest inland city – a move that has Regional Victoria throwing their hands up and feeling pretty good about itself.

The tour marks their first shows down under in eight years, and comes as a reminder to many that Good Charlotte are actually a massive international act, and not just alternating judges on The Voice.

It’s believed the move to Bendigo over Melbourne is designed for Good Charlotte to get a look at the lifestyles of the rich and the famous in Northern Vic, and check out the river.

Speaking to one proud Bendiganese man, The Advocate has learnt that there is some serious euphoria in the air right now.

“Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Bendigo,” sighed Kennington Strathdale.

“Just like it should be.”

“Finally, Bendigo is getting its rightful flowers.”

“Yellowcard and Kisschasy coming up too. It’s pretty much a festival haha.”

“Suck shit Ballarat!”
