As the mood across the face of planet earth continues to darken, yet another geopolitical flareup has hit the headlines.
India and Pakistan are causing serious consternation after firing shots across the border at each other.
The historical rivals look frightening close to a full blown conflict, with both sides classifying the other’s actions as acts of war.
However, with recent conflicts in the Middle East and Europe, as well as ignored ones in places like Myanmar and the Congo, the global community has confirmed that they might just sit this one out.
The local United Nations delegate here in Betoota spoke to The Advocate about the escalating issue, saying that at this point in time, the UN ‘can’t even.’
“Man, the world is doing too much right now,” the spokesperson sighed.
“Two giant countries with nuclear weapons starting to heat up is not ideal.”
“Maybe the nuclear thing will make more people care, unlike the majority of other armed conflicts around the world that are seeing countless poor people killed.”
“But until it starts getting a bit more serious, we are just gonna take a breather.”
“Obviously we’ll have to gear up if these two keep escalating, but until then it’s in the too hard basket.”
More to come.
