A local woman has left a scathing one-star Uber review after her driver failed to spend the entire journey softly chatting in Hindi to a friend on the phone.

Jasmine Rowe (25), who had been emotionally preparing herself for the comforting and soothing background murmur of a marathon catch up session in a foreign language, said she was “deeply unsettled” by the driver’s silence and focus.

“I got in, buckled up, and waited for that familiar warm hum of conversation” said Rowe, still shaken by the whole ordeal.

“But instead, he just drove... in total silence..”

The ride, which lasted 23 minutes, included no vaguely recognisable names of cricketers, no gentle laughter, and not even a whispered update about someone's visa status.

“I didn’t realise how much I relied on those softly spoken South Asian language monologues for my nervous system” admitted Rowe.

“It’s like my white noise.”

Despite giving five stars for vehicle cleanliness and a complimentary bottle of water, Rowe ultimately gave the trip a 1-star rating,

Uber has confirmed that the driver, Harish, will not be penalised, but may be encouraged to make a call back home in the future

When reached for comment, Harish said, “I was just trying to concentrate on the road.”

Jasmine has since begun asking for the numbers of phone call addicted uber drivers for the future as a work around for any upcoming dillemas.
