Australia's richest person has this week decided to once again offer up her two cents on the latest culture wars issue (the arrest of an individual on criminal charges which has been now turned into a culture wars issue).
Gina Rinehart has said she doesn't understand why Ben Roberts-Smith has been charged - without providing to much detail around whether she doesn't understand how the lengthy legal process involving numerous former colleagues has led to his arrest, or whether she doesn't understand why we arrest people who are alleged to have committed war crimes.
However she has clarified that the arrest of the highly paid media executive bankrolled by a media mogul who comes from a family of supreme court judges and opera singers is a well coordinated smear campaign by 'the Elites.'
The nature of those elites is yet to be clarified, with scarce detail on whether the numerous soldiers who risked their necks to testify against BRS in his previous trial were part of the 'cabal.'
The interesting claim from Australia's richest woman, who is currently bankrolling Australia's loudest (and weirdly most ineffective) rallier against the elites Pauline Hanson, comes as the internet and news cycle goes hammer and tongs over the arrest of Roberts-Smith.
While the courts are now set to decide whether the man accused of committing war crimes committed war crimes, many have taken to the internet to pass judgement in their own courtroom - while also dismissing any other judgement of anyone who disagrees with them.
It's unknown whether Gina or previous legal backer Kerry Stokes will be bankrolling this latest legal drama for BRS, however given Gina's predisposition to putting money behind prominent individuals who are happy to play ball, there's a decent chance she'll get behind the quest to fight back against the nation's elites.
More to come.
