The people in charge of the prison where Erin Patterson is currently living have brought in some drastic new measures, it can be confirmed today.

Fresh off the back off being given a life sentence with a 33 year non-parole period, Patterson has been dealt another hammer blow.

The wardens at her prison have banned her from any kitchen and gardening duties for the foreseeable future.

The decision was reportedly made in the interest of her fellow prisoners’ safety, with concerns that the Mushroom Killer might strike again.

“Yeah, given the look she gave the press gallery today, I think it’s fair to say she might not be remorseful for her actions,” said the prison warden.

“So I don’t think we want to be giving her free rein to be playing around in the dirt and bringing her own produce back into the kitchen.”

“Particularly now she’s got the taste for it.”

Patterson famously cooked a veritable smorgasbord of poisonous meals, from Rat Poison Korma Curry to Death Cap Beef Wellington.

“Yeah, as much as there are some bad eggs in this prison, we can’t just let Patto cook up a storm here.”

“Would blow back and cause way too much paperwork.”

Patterson was contacted to provide comment through the glass phone, but apparently declined for some reason.

More to come.
