The Liberal Party has released a new campaign ad alleging that Prime Minister Anthony Albanese is responsible for a national decline in national attractiveness, including the physical deterioration of senior Coalition figures.
The 90-second advertisement features archival footage of former PM Scott Morrison with a full head of hair and a neatly trimmed beard, smiling confidently. A narrator claims Morrison “once glowed with leadership and good looks, before Albo ruined everything.”
“How good did we all look?” asks the ad, channelling Morrison’s famous ‘How Good’ slogan.
“This is what Albo has taken for us. From us all.”
The ad continues with images of Nationals MP Barnaby Joyce wearing a Hawaiian shirt and sporting a thick ponytail, described in the video as being in his “carefree, fuck boy era.”
Joyce is now visibly balding and has seemingly lost his boyish spark.
Opposition Leader Peter Dutton is shown in happier times, donning a red beanie reportedly inspired by U2 guitarist The Edge.
The ad suggests Dutton’s fashion confidence has since withered under the stress of the Albanese government.
“Back then, they had hair. They had style. They had hope,” the narrator states.
“Now? They have Albo.”
The ad closes with the message: “Let’s get Australia back on track! To when Scotty was hot, pre-vasectomy era Barnaby, and Dutton had dat drip.”
The Prime Minister’s Office declined to comment.
The Liberal Party confirmed the ad would run in regional TV markets and on Facebook.
More to come.
