The Brisbane Broncos endured their most embarrassing NRL loss of the season yesterday, after a dismal loss against a bottom eight merger club.

This has caused a wave of sorrow to permeate through the River City, which only rubs salt in the wounds of South-East Queenslanders still reeling from the pain of losing the first Origin match on Wednesday night,

Meanwhile, St George-Illawarra Dragons fans are recorded their first win this season against the reigning champions.

The Red V supporter say that yesterday's afternoon match in Brisbane was the first match in the 2026 season where the referees did their job properly.

While the Broncos were able to stage a dignified comeback, it wasn’t enough to defeat the Dragons who ended up winning 30-26 at Suncorp Stadium.

Similar to this time last year, The Broncos now find themselves well and truly outside the Top 8 - and no amount of inspirational speakers in the change-rooms appear to be able to turn that around. What will ultimately end up happening is that Reece Walsh will start playing good again, due to reasons that nobody can identify, and they'll end up timing their finals run perfectly.

But that doesn't change the fact that the St George-Illawarra Dragons WON after finally being allowed to play good footy without the hindrance of stupid refs that always fuck everything for them.

A recent report from Fox League has found that over 95% of the NRL supporter base believe that 'The Refs Fucked Us' is the leading cause of every team's loss this in the 2026 season, except for the Parramatta Eels who are still too shit to be able to blame the ref.

However, no fanbase believes they've been fucked by the refs harder than the St George Dragons, many of whom honestly believe that they have a potential premiership winning team that has been stifled by poor officiating.

And last night's result only confirms this narrative, as Dragons fans insist it was the only time in 15 matches that they haven't been fucked by the refs.

In bad news for the Queenslanders, however, it appears this 'the refs fucked us' mentality has begun to take hold north of the Tweed - a fatal mindset that often prefaces most Queensland series losses.
