Communications specialist, Stephanie Howard, is the epitome of corporate success; matching pant-suits, expensive car, and a luxurious 3-bedroom apartment in the trendy fringe CBD suburb of Betoota Hills.
But once inside the architecturally designed abode, your eyes will see the truth of a past that Stephanie cannot shake. A truth she is reminded of a dozen times a day.
Stephanie grew up on a farm three and a half hours east of Betoota, and as is protocol on any farm, egg cartons are collected and stored for future use. The only problem here is that Stephanie has no chooks to fill the cartons and bring them into rotation, so the walls of her kitchen have become a veritable tomb for past cartons.
“I don’t know why I don’t just throw them out.”
“I think it’s because each time I do, I think no I’ll keep them and give them to mum the next time I go home”
However, with a busy work schedule and a protein rich diet, Stephanie might not make it home before she loses another cupboard to her carton collection.
More to come.
